Last week Prof. Francesco Flammini participated to the AI readiness workshop held in Geneva within the AI4GOOD Summit 2025 organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) – the specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) addressing information and communication technologies. AI4GOOD is the UN leading platform on Artificial Intelligence to solve global challenges

The focus of the workshop was on the capacity to effectively adopt, develop, govern, and benefit from artificial intelligence in ways that are ethical, inclusive, and aligned with UN sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Prof. Flammini had the opportunity to present the current results of the REXASI-PRO project, addressing trustworthy artificial intelligence for drone-supported autonomous wheelchairs, to a diverse audience, including top academic researchers as well as politicians and policy-makers coming from all parts of the world. There has been strong interest on the subject as well as inspiring discussions on the importance of AI regulation, human-centered AI, and how to test high-risk AI systems in future, inclusive, and sustainable smart-cities.
