Francesco Flammini ranked among world’s most influential scientists

Francesco Flammini, professor and leader of the Trustworthy Autonomous Systems (TAS) group at Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence (IDSIA USI-SUPSI), has been confirmed for year 2024 in the prestigious Stanford University World’s Top 2% Scientists list, both in the single year and whole career rankings.

Stanford University has recently compiled and published the updated list of the top 2% the most-cited scientists. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification. Field- and subfield-specific percentiles are also provided for all scientists with at least 5 papers. Career-long data are updated to end-of-2023 and single recent year data pertain to citations received during calendar year 2023. The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field. The latest version is based on the August 1, 2024 snapshot from Elsevier Scopus, updated to end of citation year 2023.

Such an achievement is a further recognition of the high quality and impact of research performed by the TAS group researchers.
