Artificial intelligence for cyber-phisical security: Simone Guarino defends his PhD dissertation

Today Simone Guarino, TAS group affiliated member, has presented his research on cyber-physical anomaly detection for industrial control systems. The ensemble detection models he used are based on a combination of unsupervised machine learning and dynamic Bayesian networks, which he developed during his visit at IDSIA, hosted and supervised by Prof. Francesco Flammini. The main results of his research led to impactful publications on top international journals, such as IEEE Access, Computers and Electrical Engineeting (Elsevier), and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems, as well as to a Best Innovation Paper Award at IEEE CSR conference last year.

We warmly congratulate Simone for achieving all those outstading results, and we hope we will continue our fruitful cooperation in the future. It was a pleasure for us to host him, and we wish him all the best for his career!
